Hello, there! My name is Kelsie and I am happy to share an experience of adopting pets from the ECHA with the readers of this blog. At the time that my first dog was adopted, there was a shortage of space and lots of dogs needed immediate foster families. One of my roommates asked us if we would be willing to foster a dog: of course I would! The moment I walked into my apartment, I knew I was not just going to "foster" this pup. I was going to be his fur mom forever! For a week or so, Sam (then Scout) and I played it coy, but I eventually decided that it was time to take a big step. For the first time ever, I was going to have a dog of my very own!
As of Christmas 2013, Sam and I officially belonged to each other... The adoption fee for Sam was my favorite present that year!
Sam is now almost 3 and he is the biggest gentleman, as ever. He loves naps, playing with his fur brother, George, and giving side-eyes. He still knows the hand commands that he learned while he was in the care of the ECHA and his favorite treat is chicken nuggets from Chick Fil A. He most definitely has a special place in my heart and, on the days that he decides he wants to cuddle, I can tell I have a special place in his as well.
